how to install new graphics card in macbook pro

Is that accurate? I do not currently run Boot Camp on my machine nor had I ever intended to. Some searching suggests that this Boot Camp Unified Driver is the one I need. It seems that I need to go and install a driver. I'm specifically looking to use the card to improve performance in Blender, ZBrush, and the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator primarily).

Installing the AMD ProRender engine is crashing TF out of Blender upon opening any file. In certain cases, as with Blender, I need a special Radeon rendering engine to work with. I (naively) assumed that the card would 'automatically' be used by my machine whenever possible for improved graphics processing and speed, but I'm learning that I need to tell all of my various programs to look for and use it. But it should be easy peasy to install Linux-Lite following all the Ubuntu threads on Macbook.Ok, so I am looking for a truly entry-level description of how to begin taking advantage of this graphics card that I upgraded to when I purchased a new Macbook Pro.

Linux-Lite is basically Ubuntu with makeup and special sauce included. Ubuntu has been installed on these old MacBooks since 2008. Plus the added SSD is a upgrade that will make that Mac run faster. That way your friend still has his Mac install.

Ask your friend if pulling the Mac OS hard drive is a possibility and replacing it with a blank SSD hard drive, I picked up a used Mac SSD at 180 gigs for 15 bucks made by OCZ. I consider a dual booter more hassle to take care of and it just complicates things unnecessarily. I don't know why you would want to dual boot on a system not receiving updates any more.
